McCloskey imprisoned in his own Prison (Rebuking Satan and Atheism)

McCloskey imprisoned in his own Prison
Rebuking Atheist and Satan

An article written by H.J. McCloskey entitled “On being an Atheist” for the journal “Question,” was published in February, 1968 this author makes irrational claims that God does not exist, it is apparent he is a proud and arrogant atheist. For clarification purposes, I would like to point out that an atheist and an agnostic is the same thing. Someone who claims to be an agnostic is just politely saying he is an atheist or they do not have the gumption to admit they are an atheist. There is no such thing as an agnostic it defies the laws of philosophy, either you believe in something or you do not believe in something there is no middle ground, a middle ground is abstract and ambiguous, therefore defying the laws of philosophy. When I mention atheist, I’m also talking about an agnostic.
McCloskey is confined to an evil and an imperfect world and because of the world he lives in, he claims there is no God, and if there is a God, he a malevolent God. Outside the prison that McCloskey is confined in, there is good.  One must understand there is good in the world too; McCloskey doesn’t bring this up at all in his article. And his argument about an intelligent design is belittled because he views the world as being imperfect or full of evil. The main mechanism of defense as an atheist is the presence of evil. Think about evil for a second…the only reason evil is here is because of good. There would be no evil without good. Albert Einstein was quoted as saying to an atheist professor, Albert professed, “Sir, evil does not exist. Just as cold does not exist without hot, or dark does not exist without light, according to the laws of physics, evil does not exist without good. Evil is a term that man has created to describe the result of the absence of God’s presence in the hearts of man.”  What causes a person to commit an Evil act? According to an Atheist we are nothing more than flesh and bones with no spirit, we are like dogs and cats and other animals that are on the earth. Question? Can animals reason? Do you see animals mating with other animals of the same sex? Do you see animals killing just for the sake of killing? The answer to all these questions is a resounding “NO”. Why? You may ask. Why do humans act so perverse in nature that animals would never do or are incapable of doing? It is because something is driving them to do it or act perverted or vile. What is that something? It’s a spirit….an evil spirit. An evil spirit drives humans to do evil things. A flesh and blood human is not going to have the drive to commit evil or perverted acts without something motivating him to do it. And that something is an evil spirit. The evil spirit is Satan. Only Satan is capable of enticing a human to commit evil acts. There is good and evil in the world. God is good and just because evil exist in the world doesn’t mean that God doesn’t exist. McCloskey refers to the arguments as “Proofs” and often implies that theist can’t definitively establish the case for God, so therefore they should be abandoned. McCloskey is not a defeater of God, because he doesn’t have “Proof” that God doesn’t exist. It is not necessarily true that a good being always eliminates all the evil it can, or that an omnipotent being could eliminate all evil without the  loss of any greater good. ( Evans and Manis pg. 167) The burden of proof is on McCloskey and he needs a proposition to prove that the existence of God and Evil are logically contradictory (Evans and Manis pg. 167) the reason McCloskey and other atheist are hypocrites is because some of the things they know for certain exist, as no “Proof” of existence at all. And example would be the black hole that scientist claim exist. You can’t see the black hole but you can notice the results of the black hole. Theist can’t see God but they can see the effects of God. So why should an atheist criticize theism for believing in a God that can’t be seen, when they believe in things that can’t be seen. It is hypocrisy.  There is good all around us, it’s just not talked about a lot. God clearly says that this world belongs to Satan. And again why do all atheists blame God for evil when God is good. Why doesn’t the atheist blame Satan? The reason atheist do not blame Satan is because Satan is the one controlling them. Satan hates God and atheists hate God. Satan and Atheists are synominous with one another.
Atheists also try to rationalize different scenarios of how God should have made us and the world if he existed. They like to rationalize that evil can’t exist with good. This can’t be substantiated with sufficient proof.  There are numerous examples of good co-existing with evil. There are some cases where it is not genuinely possible to change a situation and keep evil from happening. And in some situations one thing needs to happen in order for the other to take place. A perfect example may be the crucifixion of Christ. He was tortured and beaten and then hung on a cross to die to bare the sins of the world in order for us to have eternal life with God. So in some cases blood had to be shed to allow a good thing to happen. But certainly there are variables beyond our scope of comprehension. It is similar to a child not knowing why his mother is spanking him but as the child grows older he realizes that the spanking was for his own good. Our minds are like the mind of a child, we shouldn’t expect to understand everything about God. Because we haven’t been around as long as our creator has and we don’t know what he knows? We have to be humble and realize that our minds are only capable to perceive or comprehend but so much. God is much bigger than our little minds could ever realize.
McCloskey and other atheist think they are freeing themselves by killing God; the opposite of this is more rational. God is life without God there is no life. How can an individual get excited about life denying that there is no reason for him to be here?(Craig Williams Lane Pg. 71) God stipulated in his Word the reason for life and each of us have a purpose, to deny the existence of God is to deny you the meaning of life. If all you can look forward to is death what makes life worth living? This is one reason why the suicide rate is so high because some people have given up on life because it has no meaning. God offers meaning and hope for life. We are designed for a purpose and that purpose is to live our lives according to God’s Word and to accept the sacrificial atonement of our sins in Christ so that we will have eternal life with our heavenly father.
To an Atheist everything is based on reason, how many times in life have things happened to you or someone else that had no reason to happen? Therefore, atheism needs proof and theism can’t provide solid proof of the existence of God, it relies on minimal realistic concepts. We defend the belief of God in sections at a time... God is a common sense issue not an issue based on facts or reason. Just because an atheist can’t comprehend God and make reason out of it doesn’t mean God doesn’t exist. And just because your little mind isn’t big enough to comprehend God doesn’t mean he doesn’t exist. Your mind is limited in its ability to comprehend. It is limited in scope and atheists do not believe their mind is limited in scope. They believe what they see, taste , hear and feel is all there is to life, in other words they live strictly in the physical realm of reality not the spiritual realm of reality, so it would be virtually impossible for them to see God. Arrogance and pride is the biggest hindrance for atheist, they really can’t get over themselves. They view themselves as God. But they should realize that humans are very limited in scope and ingenuity. Look at the history of this world and you would conclude that we are not as smart as we think we are. Take electricity for instance, Electricity is generated through big cumbersome generators made of tons of copper and magnets spinning around each other. Then we have to have big cumbersome power stations to supply the energy to turn the turbines, this way of producing electricity should be obsolete by now. This power is then supplied to us through power lines and most power lines are still above ground susceptible to winds and bad weather. Is that smart? I think not. Another good example is the gasoline engine. After 100 years we are still in gasoline cars, you would think that we would have evolved to a more efficient means of transportation. So the point is that our human minds have limits to its intelligence. So why is the atheist so dependent on our limited mental aptitude?? This question can only be answered as having a dependency on pride and arrogance. God mentions many times about not being able to see God because of pride. The cause of the universe is based on the cosmological argument of first cause. Everything has to have a maker it doesn’t happen for no reason. It takes more faith to not believe in God than to believe in God. Borrowing from Aqunas theory , intelligent being exists by whom all natural things are directed to their end; and this being we call God.(Evans and Manis Pg.78) Aquinas mentions two features in nature that imply design; “order” when things act the same and “Value” order that bring about good results. This type of order is defined as beneficial order and this type of order does not happen by chance. This theory can be labeled as the “inference to the best explanation” which atheist scientist use all the time in defining elements of science. But for some reason atheist believe that this theory is only correct when they use it and not correct when it is used by theist. Atheist will be the first to tell you that an example of intelligent design is manmade machines, in that their parts work together to achieve some end or purpose (Evans and Manis pg.81), nature works in the same way as man made machines , in that their parts work together to achieve some end or purpose. But atheists deny that nature was created by intelligent design. This of course is the definition of hypocrisy. The formula for an atheist might be hypocrisy, arrogance and pride all bundled up in one package. Oh, an let us not forget a little dab of vacuity to give it a little flavor.
McCloskey claims that “to get the proof going, genuine indisputable examples of design and purpose are needed.” He calls this a “very conclusive objection” Conclusively is a product of reason and as I mentioned before reason can only be established through the human mind. Remember the human mind is small in scope compared to God and infinity. Aliens in space might have more innovative and broader minds than we do. So reason is only limited to the human mind and how we comprehend things, it has nothing to do with reality. Based on the laws of philosophy, arguments on both sides of the spectrum are defeasible therefore it’s possible that both the atheist and the theist could be wrong. Wouldn’t it make more sense if both arguments are defeasible to favor theism, because of the consequences of death. One would reason that his eternal existence is at stake, whether you believe in life after death or not; do you really want to take a chance of burning in hell. This is a common sense issue. Atheist believes that because of evil God does not exist, therefore atheist can participate in evil, and fear no consequences. According to God evil will be extinguished and the evil one will be tormented in the lake of fire forever. So for the atheist this life is a tune up for their eternal life in hell. But I need to remind you that this argument is defeasible so the atheist can take comfort in that, in the same light pride and arrogance can take comfort in not wanting to learn and accept the truth. We should be humble and realize our minds are not capable to understand everything there is to know..
Atheists also defend Darwinism and evolution, evolution is based on mechanistically. Which for many defies the traditional teleological argument? There are basically three responses to this theory, that evolution is still a divine creation in that it had to start from “scratch”. Second, the evolution process as occurred but the process can’t be explained on mechanistically theory alone. It makes more sense to see the process as guided by intelligent design. And thirdly , Mechanical and teleological theory are not always incompatible, for example man can design a shoe to have a mechanical result but the  results are not by accident and it achieves a beneficial results. ( Evans and Manis Pg. 83)

McCloskey can’t reason beyond what his natural senses tell him, and I will lend him some creditability from a limited scope point of view from the confines of his little mind, so I can demonstrate an example. The perspective of McCloskey is like being in a prison all your life, you only believe what you see inside the prison walls; although there is a whole different world outside the prison walls. McCloskey is in a prison that he has created, it has nothing to do with the outside world. The prison he resides in is full of murderers, thieves and drug addicts. But what goes on inside the prison doesn’t justify what is going on outside the prison. McCloskey prefers to believe in a rival metaphysical system, a system with no means of existence, since he claims there is no existence in anything, that’s like saying the shoe that was created by the manufacturing company, just appeared out of nowhere. Do you really think we’re going to buy those shoes? That shoe would have no warranty, no guarantee and more than likely no satisfaction. The evil in this world was created by man; it is naïve for McCloskey to not believe there is a God because of evil and imperfections in the world. Let’s hypothetically say that you are a perfect being, and you have a child that grows up to be a murderer, thief, and drug addict. And someone in prison where your son is living suggests to your son that you do not have a father because you are a murderer, thief, and drug addict. You are a disgusting human being and you could not have possibly come from the loins of your father. McCloskey is the guy in the prison that is judging your son and claiming his whole belief on the fact that he is in prison with a bunch of murderers, thieves, and drug addicts. He has imprisoned himself and he has thrown away the key that will set him free from prison by denying that he has a father. If McCloskey would chose to use the key to unlock the lock that holds him captive inside the prison that he created for himself he would discover that he has a father that loves him so much that he stretched out his arms and died for him. McCloskey could set himself free if he wanted to, but the only thing he knows is his miserable life inside the prison.
